Letters to Juliet: Verona, Italy

Hey family,

Today, we stop in the city of love and birthplace of Shakespeare's Juliet: Verona, Italy. This is a special place and you can literally "feel the love" as you walk the streets.

First we start with the Verona Arena where numerous operas and plays are still held to this day...

Then we move on to "Letters to Juliet". Here you will find a multitude of hopeless romantics professing their love (or desire to have love) plastered on to a wall using the hopefuls "chewed gum" for good measure.

It was only right for me to get in on the action! See below...

Then, you finally walk in to see the statue in honor of Juliet herself! There is a legend of touching her right breast for good luck lol not sure how well that works...

We wrapped up our time in this beautiful place by grabbing a vegan bite to eat at Sao's where I met my first Black Italian woman! We worked together with my broken Italian to order a great treat and she talked to us about being Black in Italy!

My only regret is not spending more time in this place! It is for sure on my return list!

Peace and Love,

DeidreVee
