Hey family,

On this day in 1884, the initial invention of the mechanical "egg beater" was patented by Cincinnati Ohio native, Willis Johnson. Prior to his eggbeater, all mixing of ingredients was done by hand and was quite labor-intensive and time-consuming. To make things more clear, he actually created the first design of a mixing machine. For all of us cooks/bakers, we must give thanks to this guy for keeping us from having carpal tunnel.

So next time you flick your whisk, take a moment to thank Willis Johnson.

Peace and Love,

DeidreVee
