Vegan Deodorants

Hey family! So in addition to eating more healthy, I have become more cognizant of the other items I introduce to my body. One thing that may not be on your mind, but has become a stable of life is DEODORANT! We are constantly checking ourselves throughout the day to ensure we're still smelling good. We may even carry a pocket-size one on us daily. We have an obsession with smelling "Fresh". But, the sad reality is there are many ingredients found in our gems that have been linked to CANCER! When I started on this journey, I was all about the FOOD, but honestly you have to care for yourself in all capacities. So, in light of this, I have been testing my luck with Vegan non-aluminum containing deodorants. First off, many people know the struggle that comes with finding the right deodorant. Once you find that special one, you'll probably use it for years to come and you hate to give it up. That is what made this process hard. Before discussing the ones I've tried so far, I just want to warn you.
**DISCLAIMER, vegan deodorants are NOT like your "normal" deodorant. First off, you have to go through this phase of "detoxing" your pits before they truly adjust to the change. Essentially, think of it like you've been doing hard drugs for several years and you finally decide enough is enough. Your armpits will cry out for your old stuff for approximately three weeks before it finally adjusts. Just try to keep one on hand and push through. Your body will thank you later. If you're expecting some kind of super potent smell that burst out every time you lift your arm, think again. Vegan deodorants are very light smelling and with less chemicals included, you mostly get naturally occurring smells. They are NOT 24 hour protected. The aluminum found in most mainstream deodorants helps the "fresh" smell stick with you throughout the day. Without that, you may have to reapply especially if you're having a busy stressful day, but no worries most companies have great travel sizes. ***
The ones I have tried so far:
Schmidt Natural Deodorant Bergamot Lime: So this was the first vegan deodorant I tried which I bought at my local Natural Grocers for $4. It has a light lime and citrus scent which is very pleasant and it dries quickly with a slight grey finish. It is a little rough to put on, but the scent holds long term. I have sensitive skin, so I discontinued use because one of the ingredients was a little too harsh for me.

Tom's of Maine Natural Long-Lasting Deodorant Stick Apricot : I picked this up from Walmart for like $4. This one smelled amazing and was very smooth during application. It also dried clear, so no odd streak. One misfortune was the fact that you kind of feel sticky after application. Although you can actually smell the Apricot when you lift your arms, it also feels wet which does not ever really go away. P.S. it says long-lasting, but did not seem that long to me.

Garner's Garden 100% Natural Deodorant Normal Strength: This one was ordered online from webuyblack.com for $7.99 plus shipping. I ordered it and within four days it was at my door. This one was great! It did not have much of a scent, but it held me down. It dried clear and did not irritate my skin. It even worked well when I was working out. The only real downfall is the fact that it is online, so you have to buy it at a certain time to ensure you don't run out and I mean the shipping cost is not that great either.

Kopari Natural Coconut Deodorant: This is the deodorant I am currently testing out. So far it is wonderful! The scent is light but with a sweet coconut finish. It is a roll on deodorant that dries clear as well, but does not feel sticky. It also lasts long, but starts to fade a way some what during hard work outs. It is another online product that is $14 a piece plus shipping which may not be feasible for some. They do have sales and a subscription that makes it a little cheaper.

Try some of these out and let me know what you think. What others have you tried and would recommend?
Peace and Love,
